All children and youth are facing increasingly complex challenges and vulnerabilities in today’s society. The support and involvement of every community member and organization is necessary in order to address existing and emerging issues. For over 35 years the Society for Children and Youth of BC has actively engaged in education, advocacy, and community engagement to promote the well-being of all children and youth through the full realization of child rights and the development of Child and Youth Friendly Communities.

Your donation to our Society will contribute to:

·       Public education and awareness initiatives

·       Development of  Child Rights and Child and Youth Friendly Communities resources to help strengthen communities and organizations

·       Advocacy of children, youth, and family issues in order to influence social and systemic improvements

·       Promotion of the inclusion of children, youth, and adult ‘duty bearer’s’ participation in decision making

·       Engagement of communities in interdisciplinary exchange and action

·       Ensuring organizational capacity and sustainability to support the needs of children and youth

The Society actively engages and supports over 100 organizations and approximately 1,500 individuals through projects, program work, meetings, conference presentations, workshops, communications, community engagement events, and resource dissemination and support. SCY now has a network of over 600 individuals and organizations that are involved in the work of the Society.
