Projects/Initiatives

SCY's work is largely issue-based but sometimes adopts a broader approach such as its promotion of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and its initiative to promote Child and Youth Friendly Communities.

Below are major initiatives that SCY is currently working on. Please click on an initiative if you would like to learn more.

SCY's Major Initiatives

Thanks to: The United Way of the Lower Mainland, the Law Foundation, Canadian Heritage, Vancouver Foundation, Justice Canada, VanCity Community Foundation, and the Government of BC (Gaming).

Rights Awareness Program (RAP)

Promoting the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). This project also involved the development of a three-tier monitoring framework to assess compliance with the UNCRC.

Child and Youth Friendly Communities (CYFC)

To encourage the development of Child and Youth Friendly Communities and help community groups achieve this through activities that will improve the safety and well-being of all children and youth in their community.
