National Child Day marks the day of the adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child – the most universally accepted human rights instrument in history. By ratifying the Convention in 1991, Canada made a commitment to protecting and ensuring the human rights for children and to hold themselves accountable to the international community.
