Executive Director Resigns

Vancouver, BC: Jessica Chant, Executive Director of the Society for Children and Youth of British Columbia this week submitted her resignation to the Board of Directors thanking the organization for the opportunity to have worked with such a knowledgeable and committed group of people in the area of children’s rights.  Gary Manson, President of the Society stated that Chant worked hard on behalf of the membership and ultimately on behalf of young people throughout the Province to promote children’s rights.  “Jess has been an enthusiastic and proud supporter of SCY and on behalf of the Board of Directors I thank her for her commitment and contributions.”

Chant will stay on with the organization until April 27.  In the meantime a consultant has been hired to assist the organization through this transition.  The consultant, Tina Tam, who has had experience working in both private and community organizations including Scotia Capital Inc. and the Canadian Red Cross, will be working closely with the Board of Directors in outlining the next steps for SCY.
