In keeping with the provincial Society's Act, SCY is accountable to its elected Board of Directors . The Board is comprised of sixteen Directors representing the wide variety of fields such as Health, Education, Law, Child Development, Social Services, Urban Panning and Design, Recreation and Business.
The Board and its Executive Committee meet on a regular basis throughout the year. Project committees are established to steer and advise on our major initiatives and programs determined by the Board of Directors, such as our 'Child and Youth Friendly Communities' and 'Rights Awareness' programs. The composition of these committees ensures geographical, multidisciplinary and multicultural representation. Youth involvement is a high priority.
